SA Thomas Smith started his career in law enforcement with the United States Capitol Police as a police officer. After the events of 9-11, he transferred to the Federal Air Marshal Service. During his tenure at the Air Marshals, he worked on numerous special projects, trained staff, and responded to National Security events around the world. He served as the tactical communications coordinator for the agency, Training Officer and mentor. In 2010, he transferred to the Department of Commerce Export Enforcement. SA Smith is the recipient of a 2013 BIS Gold Medal Award, (3) 2016 BIS Bronze Medal Awards, and a 2018 BIS Bronze Medal Award. SA Smith is married with twin boys and lives in Allendale, New Jersey.
